I am a kind of person who would keep safe all the recyclable items. I remember collecting the chocolate covers as a kid. My mom used to check out the drawers in my room and throw out the unnecessary things. Quarrels to follow.. LOL. This very old habit of mine has managed to stick with me all these years. Recently when I saved the shells of the pistachio. My husband was puzzled to see this. After some days, I made this wall hanging out of them. Glue the shells to a card board or frame. Paint it if you feel like. Thats it!!

Some of you may have noted my absence for last month. I was too busy with multiple projects and few of my personal work. I would be regular in posting from now on. Thanks for staying with me.

Amy's Cardstock paper

The project I was working is done. Love the colors of the flowers specially. I am happy with how it came out. Now have to find a room for my new baby hehe. Heres another close up.

There are some other ideas in my mind. But I have gone kind of lazy nowadays. Got to get out of the shell and keep myself engaged.

Peep into my new project

Last week was lazy one. There was a long list of craft projects I wanted to try. Successfully I convinced myself to start with a new one. The project would hopefully finish by this weekend. The ingredients for the project include a thrown away frame and Amy Butler cardstock papers. More on the project with new pictures soon.

Wallpaper coasters

New coasters on my dining table. I bought some cork and felt from the local craft shop some days back. I was planning to make some coasters out of them. As work started, I decided to use wallpaper instead of felt. There was some wallpaper borders which I got home long back with no idea how to use them. Now on to the project Coaster. I made two kinds of flower patterns. Traced on wallpaper and scissored them. Next drew the patterns on cork and worked on them. I had to be more careful with the cork as it was delicate. Later I glued the wallpaper to cork. Simpler than what I thought!! They look nice on my yellow table.

Kawasaki Roses

My paper roses are ready for display. I was really proud of the outcome after 4 hours of effort. I was trying to follow instructions in different sites. But this one helped me most. Though I could not follow the language, the pictures gave clear instructions. I set out to make more roses. By the end of half a day I was with some half dozen roses.

More Origami

More flowers and new butterflies. Hope they look like butterflies to someone. I showed them to my husband and asked him what he thinks. His answer was the bird looks great, hehheh. I had to convince him that they are butterflies. But the flowers turned out so well and no confusion about that. I was so proud to look at them. They are pretty simple to make. Click here for the directions to make kusudama flowers. I am working on the Kawasaki rose. Its testing my patience. May be I should take a break and try later.

High five photo contest at Mommyfest
I was thinking for 2 days what to post and came up with this photo. It was my birthday last week and had a surprise party arranged by my husband. We had tried taking the cake with candles in dark, but did not come out well. Candles were lying around and I tried once again. I am happy with the result.

Magazine holders

There were some good number of cereal boxes of different sizes. They were begging me to put them into good use. Finally I spared some time to convert them into magazine holders and small note holder. Covered the boxes with a gift wrap and here it is.. Now the magazines that were scattered around got home.

Do you remember the tissue paper tube project i was talking about. Thanks to Littlehut for the idea. It does not come close to her tealight holder. But its in my own way. It sits on my coffee table right now with a sweet smelling candle. More tissue paper tube projects on way

Wall decors

I was looking for some items to decorate walls and found this site Wallter. They feature a wall decor product that can be easily installed. They are wood based and kids friendly. We can paint them to our imagination and this sounds fun. This is something simple and cute. I think of adapting this idea with materials like foam, cork or anything of that sort.

Paper Crafts

I love paper crafts. Interested in painting, glass, fabric, sewing crafts too. I do not sew, not even a button. But my friend says that may be because I never gave it a try. I am losing track of my topic. Love paper crafts more than any of the others. I know a blog specialized in this, that too recycled paper - Little hut. Her ideas are very innovative. I am amazed at how she turns the simple, trash materials into something cute and useful. Love her recycle projects and recently tried one of them. It did not turn out well and still working on it. Would post the picture as I get it in shape. I have got an origami and kirigami kit some months ago. I started with them, but understood need more patience. Kits are sleeping on the shelf. I got start working on them soon. My To do list is increasing..

Canvas Painting

I was inspired by HowAboutOrange fame Jessica Jones to do painting on canvas. With my experience in painting during the school time, i tried out one with set of minimal acrylic colors and canvas.The pattern was found in one of the free embrodery links. I could not take a print out and had to hand draw. It came out as a completely different pattern from the one in the site. But I feel it looks fine. Still have to find a way to protect the surface. Any suggestions welcome.

Recycling Bulbs

Last week, I found one of the bulbs is not working. I did not want to throw it away. Googled for recycling projects and found this little penguin. But did not have all the materials mentioned there. The result you see is the adaptation of the recipe. It turned out so cute

I have been introduced to the craft blogging world and could not stop myself from starting one of my own. I do not have much of my creations to share, but do read lot of blogs regularly. I just wanted to keep a list of those blogs. Why not put them in a blog. I can do share my findings also. I am fascinated by this world of creativity and how talented the fellow bloggers are !!!
